  • Reopening of schools in September

Fri 03 Jul 2020 Mrs Read

You may have heard in the news last night that the government have announced that all children will be expected to return to school full time in September.
We are busy planning and preparing for this by updating our risk assessments and consulting with the local authority, fully supported by the Yare Education Trust.
You can read the guidance yourself here:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/what-parents-and-carers-need-to-know-about-early-years-providers-schools-and-colleges-during-the-coronavirus-covid-19-outbreak/what-parents-and-carers-need-to-know-about-early-years-providers-schools-and-colleges-in-the-autumn-term

We will of course update you as soon as we can on the finer details of reopening in September.

  • Keeping in Touch Sessions

Thu 18 Jun 2020 Mrs Read

    Exciting news!

We are busy planning and risk assessing a 'Keeping in Touch' session for each class so that the children who have been learning at home can get to see their teacher (where possible) and their friends, in person before the end of term. These sessions will take place in small groups on the school field and we will send out more details, with dates and times for each group, in Monday's newsletter.

We can't wait to see your sunny faces very soon!

  • Return to School for Children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6

Tue 12 May 2020 Mrs Read
We would like to thank parents and carers for their patience and understanding at this difficult time. I know you will no doubt have lots of questions about the children's return to school but at present we still do not have all of the answers. I would however like to reassure you that the safety of our school community is our number 1 priority.  We have been making plans about how to provide for children and to maintain social distancing as numbers increase. All options are being considered, including changes to the classroom structure, cleaning regime and pattern of the school day. Our commitment to you is that we will not fully reopen without properly assessing the risks, implementing social distancing arrangements and following government guidance. Remember that the return to school for children in Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 is NOT yet confirmed and will only happen when the five key tests set by Government justify the changes at the time, including the rate of infection decreasing and the enabling programmes set out in the Roadmap operating effectively.
  • Government Announcement

Mon 11 May 2020 Mrs Read
Morning everyone! You may have seen last night's announcement about schools potentially reopening for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 after half term if the Covid-19 infection rate remains at a safe level. As in previous weeks, school leaders were given no information before this announcement and it is safe to say that there remain more questions than answers this morning. We do not know any more than you do at present. As soon as we receive further guidance, we will let you know but until then, the current arrangements for schools will continue. Stay safe everyone!
